For better overall weight distribution, the Hybrid's regular 12-volt battery is located on the right side in the trunk cargo floor. It's found under the hood in regular Sonata models. In the Hybrid, this 12-volt battery serves the same purpose in supplying power to the ignition, and run features like the radio or headlights when the engine is turned off and the car is parked.
