12-volt battery mounted in trunk - Used to start gasoline engine and runs accessories when engine is off

For better overall weight distribution, the Hybrid's regular 12-volt battery is located in the trunk. It's found under the hood in regular Sonata models. In the Hybrid, this 12-volt battery serves the same purpose in supplying power to start the gasoline engine and run accessories like the radio or headlights when the engine is turned off and the car is parked.
