2013 Santa Fe/Santa Fe Sport offers an advanced AWD system features Active Cornering Control AWD

       • Advanced electronic AWD system designed by Magna
       • Includes driver selectable AWD lock - allows for torque split between the front and rear
wheels — for off-road and very slippery conditions only
       • Previously, AWD systems control wheelspin by braking a spinning wheel or cutting the
          power from the engine
       • Active Cornering Control AWD system is the next generation in AWD systems — transfers
torque to the wheels that have the most grip
       • Torque vectoring is achieved by using redesigned differentials that can distribute power to
the rear axle for improved traction — applies brakes to the inside rear wheel for improved
          cornering performance
          — Improved lateral stability while cornering
          — Removal of unintended over-and under-steer by reducing unwanted traction to the front
              axle

    ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY

2013 Santa Fe has an impressive standard braking system

    • Front and rear disc brake information:
       — Front/Rear: Ventilated single piston / Solid single piston
       — Brake disc diameter (front/rear): 12.6-inch / 11.9-inch
    • Standard ABS with Brake Assist, EBD, DBC and HAC
       — Includes Brake Assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Downhill Brake Control
(DBC) and Hillstart Assist control (HAC)

2013 Santa Fe Sport and Santa Fe's Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) links safety features such as ESC, TCS, ABS, EBD, and Brake Assist to maximize their effectiveness in potential collision situations*

    ESC - Electronic Stability Control*
    • When sensors detects loss of steering control, it
applies appropriate braking force to help steer
the vehicle back to the driver's intended path
    • Federal requirement on all passenger cars from
       2012 model

    TCS - Traction Control System
    • Enhances driver control in adverse traction
conditions or inclement weather situations by
reducing wheel spin or loss of traction in
       acceleration

    ABS - Anti-lock Braking System
    • Helps prevent wheel lockup in the event of an
emergency braking, which causes the loss of
      steering control

    EBD - Electronic Brake-force Distribution
    • Balances braking forces at each wheel when the car is dynamically loaded
    • Helps maintain control in difficult braking situations

    Brake Assist
    • Assists drivers by applying maximum braking force when an emergency stop is detected
    • Effectively reduces emergency stopping distance

*In a recent study conducted by the Insurance  Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), ESC
reduced  the risk of all single-vehicle crashes (fatal and  non-fatal) by 41 percent.
