Awards and Accolades

More highway and city MPG than a Chevrolet Cobalt. Less money -- 2007 Elantra
- 36 MPG Hwy/28 MPG City

The 2007 Elantra was awarded a 5-Star rating for frontal crash by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA's) New Car Assessment Program.

The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE)
recognized the 2007 Hyundai Elantra as one of the top 12 "Greenest Vehicles of 2007". The 2007 Hyundai Elantra placed 11th and received a “superior” green score of 45 out of 100. The Elantra is certified as a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) and is as clean as many hybrid electric vehicles. Elantra achieves this certification, with its advanced 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder engine that features DOHC and CVVT, to ensure improved fuel economy.

Hyundai, with the freshest line up in the auto industry, earned "Best Bet" distinction for more than half its vehicles in The Car Book 2006. The Elantra earned the title "Best Bet" from author Jack Gillis and the Center for Auto Safety.

J.D. Power and Associates ranked the 2006 Elantra second for vehicle quality in the compact car segment in the annual Initial Quality Study (IQS).
